AUSTIN’S WINS 2009 COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP AWARD

The Colorado Association of Libraries named Austin's American Grill as the recipient of the 2009 Colorado Association of Libraries Library Community Partnership Award. The award recognizes Austin's for providing a sorely  needed venue for children's reading programs.

A local favorite is still going strong, as I saw last week at Old Town's Austin's American Grill.

I remember going to Austin's as a freshman at CSU: My parents took me out to lunch there right before they bid me farewell in my first semester.

As I walked into the restaurant, this time as a senior, familiar exposed brick walls and charming swing music greeted me. The bar looked tempting, with all the fancy concoctions, but instead I slipped into a cozy leather booth by the window, ready for a meal.

While Austin's specialty is American classics such as sandwiches, hearty steaks and soups, their modern twist on the traditional is sure to please.
